Nearly all the stars in the showbiz galaxy of Pakistan were present at the glittering premiere of Asim Raza’s debut flick Ho Mann Jahaan that was shown to a select audience at Nueplex Cinemas. Be it the former President of Pakistan, Pervez Musharaf (father in law of the director), renowned actors from both film and TV including
Behroze Sabzwari, Syra Shehroze and Hamza Ali Abbasi or the bustling design fraternity…all were present to grace the first film of 2016.There was also, more or less, the entire cast that was the centre of everyone’s attention. Everyone wanted to catch a glimpse of the film’s lead actress Mahira Khan, who walked the red carpet with her colleagues and the film’s lead actors Adeel Husain, Sheheryar Munawar and the ravishing Sonya Jehan. Bushra Ansari, Arshad Mehmood, Munawar Siddiqui and Nimra Bucha who play parents to the trio also graced the occasion with their presence and their excitement was matchless both before and after the screening.
Director Asim Raza hoped that the audience liked his film and his contemporaries Jami, Saqib Malik and all those who came to the cinema in support of Pakistani films, echoed his thoughts. The organizers must be commended for ensuring that the film started on time, something that hasn’t happened in Pakistan in the last few years. Despite VIP guests, models and stars in their midst, they went ahead with the proceedings on Wednesday night which ended way past midnight. There were whistles, cheers and clapping in all the halls at the cinema complex; the film was quite well publicized and one hopes that once it is released worldwide, people will pay for the ticket and appreciate Asim Raza’s vision.
