COVID-19 has led to nearly 5000 deaths globally. Those taking precaution and moving their events ahead are doing the right thing.

Among them is Shaan e Pakistan, who have postponed the three-day fashion and trade caravan they were organizing.

Helmed by Huma Nassr, who has been preparing for the show with her team in Colombo for the past ten days, the fifth edition of Shaan e Pakistan is likely to take place in June 2020 instead, according to an update from the organizers.

“We will be announcing the new date on the 23rd of March (Pakistan Day) after relevant approvals and discussion this week, tentatively which has been locked in for the month of June,” informed Armghan Azeem, Head of Operations at Shaan e Pakistan.

Speaking to online entertainment portal Something Haute, Huma Nassr shared, “We were very excited to take Shaan e Pakistan to Sri Lanka this year and had many surprise elements planned for Colombo. We are all very passionate about promoting Pakistan in the best possible light, as we have been doing for the past four seasons. Unfortunately the Corona Virus outbreak is a global pandemic that we must take seriously and therefore, in the better interest of our delegates as well as guests, we have decided to postpone the event. We will continue working on it, and will return even stronger, once the travel advisories are lifted.”
