A Turkish adaptation of Korean movie called Miracle in Cell No 7 titled 7 Kogustaki Mucize will be showing in cinemas across Pakistan starting from March 13. Special screening of the film in Turkish language with English subtitles took place last weekend at Atrium Cinemas in Karachi, amidst much appreciation.

Releasing in Pakistan by HKC Entertainment, the film – directed by Mehmet Ada Oztekin – is emotionally gripping. It follows the story of a father-daughter duo as they suffer through the test of time. The father, named Mehmet, has mental struggles and is mistakenly accused of murder of a young girl. He is sentenced to death and their life turns upside down. Whether he gets out of jail and reunites with his daughter, you will know upon watching the film.

The film manages to build a connection with viewers through its emotional appeal. However, there are a few hits and misses in an otherwise promising narrative with moral and social themes attached. Performances are top-notch; it’s definitely worth watching.
