The Koblumpi Music Festival, which started last year in Lahore, with Mehreen Rana as festival director and Mekaal Hasan as show director, has concluded its Islamabad chapter.

After the first edition taking place in Lahore, the second edition of Koblumpi Music Festival, powered by Nescafe Basement, then headed to Islamabad. With the picturesque Bani Gala as its location, the concert was held this past Sunday, February 9.

With mostly young bands featuring mostly original content, it featured a decent mix of established names such as Mekaal Hasan Band, Ali Noor (striking out on his own minus Noori) as well as younger acts such as Takatak, who have a new album to their name called Acrophase. It also featured a mix of artists who reside in the capital city as well.

Organised in partnership with Lotus PR, sixteen acts in total took to the stage. Apart from MHB, Ali Noor and Takatak, other acts to have featured in the show included Karakoram, Maanu, Natasha Noorani, Poor Rich Boy, Keeray Makorey, Jasim and The Pindi Boys, Ali Suhail, Sikandar Ka Mandar, Saakin, Amena Farooq, Haniya Aslam, Natasha Humera Ejaz and Uzair Jaswal.

Music aficionados were not the only ones in the audience; celebrities such as Ahmed Ali Akbar, Ali Rehman Khan, popular singer Asim Azhar and Ayesha Omar were also present at the live music experience.

The Koblumpi team consists of festival director Mehreen Rana, show director Mekaal Hasan, Imran Mirza as the audio partner, Danish Qureshi as lead designer, Ali Khan as creative director, O Events as the event partner, among others.

A third edition of Koblumpi Music Festival is scheduled to take place in Karachi in March, later this year. If you missed out on the Lahore and Islamabad chapter, March will be your opportunity to make up for it.
