In the recently concluded grand finale of Pepsi Battle of the Bands 4, Strings performed a rock-heavy song called ‘Hum Aaye’. The somewhat signature Strings tune, however, is not the final track from their newest album, 30 (Tees).

“It was a one-off track,” Bilal Maqsood confirmed, speaking to Instep.

Bilal Maqsood also confirmed that after ‘Sajni’, ‘Urr Jaoon’, ‘Piya Re’, ‘Mil Gaya’, ‘Hum Dono’ feat. Natasha Noorani, and ‘Chal Para’, Strings will be releasing a new song after 10th of Muharram.

“We are waiting on the video; there is some edit left. So, we will release it after 10th Muharram. The song is called ‘Raat Shabnami’ with Yasir Jaswal directing.”

As far as Bilal Maqsood is concerned, it is a 360 degree turn, with Yasir having directed the first video, ‘Sajni’ from 30 (Tees) and now ‘Raat Shabnami’.

Doing one-off singles is not new to Strings. In addition to their albums Strings I, Strings II, Duur, Dhaani, Koi Aanay Wala Hai and 30 (Tees), they have released singles such as ‘Tu Hai Kahan’, ‘Hai Koi Hum Jaisa’, ‘Main Tou Dekhoonga’, ‘Jheet Lo Dil’ with Euphoria, the anti-war video, ‘Beirut’ and ‘Ab Khud Kuch Karna Paray Ga’ featuring Atif Aslam.
