The trailer of Ali Rehman Khan and Hareem Farooq starrer Heer Maan Ja - one of the three Pakistani films releasing on Eid ul Azha 2019 - came out last week. While the other two films – Asim Raza’s Parey Hut Love and Mohammad Ehteshamuddin’s Superstar – fall in the category of romance/drama, this one promises to be a complete package with action, comedy, romance, drama and much more.
Directed by Azfar Jafri and produced by Imran Raza Kazmi, Hareem Farooq and Arif Lakhani under the banner of IRK Films and Arif Lakhani Films, Heer Maan Ja will be released in association with Geo Films.
The recently released trailer opens with Ali Rehman Khan, who essays the role of an ambitious young man, Kabir, on the verge of getting a promotion. However, his college sweetheart Heer, played by Hareem Farooq, returns to his life and he is caught in between some unnecessary drama.
Ali looks promising on the big screen, yet again, while Hareem plays a character quite opposite to the one she essayed in Parchi. Since Heer Maan Ja is a romantic comedy, the two will have proper romantic sequences onscreen for the first time (as opposed to Parchi and Mein Khayal Hun Kisi Aur Ka).
Apart from the lead pair, a strong supporting cast such as Faizan Sheikh (antagonist), Mojiz Hasan and Shumayle Khattak and an exciting lineup of cameos by Aamna Sheikh, Ahmed Ali Akbar, Ali Kazmi, Mikaal Zulfiqar and Shaz Ali Khan will undoubtedly make Heer Maan Ja an interesting watch. Let’s wait and see what the film holds in store for viewers this Eid ul Azha.
