In a recent interview with BBC Urdu, Bollywood actor and director Soni Razdan, who introduced Meera to the Indian film industry with Nazar in 2005, was all praises for the Lollywood superstar.

Lollywood’s leading lady Meera Jee is gearing up for her comeback on the silver screen, after a long hiatus, with Saqib Malik’s upcoming debut feature film, Baaji. The film is scheduled to release later this month, on June 28, while the cast is currently busy with the promotions nationwide. One of the major reasons the film has created a lot of hype is Meera Jee’s return to the big screen and we are eager to watch her perform.

In a recent interview with Fifi Haroon for BBC Urdu, Bollywood actor and director Soni Razdan, who introduced Meera to the Indian film industry with Nazar in 2005, was all praises for the Lollywood superstar. When Fifi Haroon informed Razdan that Meera is making her comeback soon with Baaji, Soni Razdan said that Meera is a director’s dream.

“As an actress, she (Meera) totally gives herself to the director,” Razdan shared, speaking of her experience of directing Meera. “There was a little bit of a film cultural problem because the films she was acting in at that time in Pakistan were a little different to perhaps my approach that I was trying to do in my films. But as an actor, she was a dream; she is always working, she is always on. That killer instinct that she has is what has seen her become such a successful actor.”

Razdan also spoke of her last film Raazi that she felt should have released in Pakistan as the film holds nothing against the country and just highlights the intricacies surrounding the Kashmir issue.

Coming back to Baaji, aside from Meera, the film has an all-star cast including Osman Khalid Butt, Amna Ilyas, Ali Kazmi and Mohsin Abbas Haider, who play prominent roles in the film.
