Times may have changed and the manner in which music is consumed by listeners certainly has but not enough that the popularity of music group Strings, spearheaded by Bilal Maqsood and Faisal Kapadia, has slowed down.

After taking a break and spending four seasons on Coke Studio as producers and bringing in multiple music directors during their time, the band announced its departure from the music series while reaching the milestone of 30 years as a band.

Hence, they named their new studio album, 30 and have since then released 7 songs, each with its own music video.

As Bilal Maqsood told Instep recently, its great see that not only have they made new fans along the way but that their songs have managed to resonate with fans. “If you come to our concerts, the two songs fans want to hear the most are ‘Sajni’ and ‘Urr Jaoon’.”

Having released ‘Sajni’, ‘Urr Jaoon’, ‘Piya Re’, ‘Milgaya’, ‘Hum Dono’ and ‘Chal Para’ from 30 as well as a special song to support the Special Olympics Pakistan called ‘Tum Aasmaan Ho’, the band is not going to rest on its laurels.

Apart from being judges on the upcoming edition of Pepsi Battle of the Bands, they will move on to the next record after 30, as Bilal Maqsood confirmed to Instep.
