Asim Abbasi’s Cake, which released in March this year, is still on a roll as it continues to get screen space at various international film festivals and win awards in different categories, the most recent being the 13th Tasveer South Asian Film Festival (TSAFF) in Seattle. Not only did the festival open with the screening of Cake on September 28, but the film also won the Archana Soy Tasveer Audience Award for Best Feature Narrative at the event.
News has it that the family drama is getting yet another screening at the Asian World Film Festival in Culver City. The festival will commence from October 24 and will run till November 1, 2018.
“Sorry guys... I’m kinda sick of the cake blasts too, but kya karun...” the director posted on his official Facebook handle. “For those of you in and around Los Angeles (LA) who missed it, or wants to see it again, Cake screens as part of the Asian World Film Festival that runs in Culver City.”
Cake features Aamina Sheikh, Sanam Saeed and Adnan Malik in key roles along with Beo Zafar, Mohammed Ahmed and Faris Khalid and has received universal acclaim from critics in the UK, UAE and Pakistan.
