After Khaani, a drama serial that broke all records on the ratings chart, Feroze Khan and Sana Javed will be appearing in the upcoming drama serial, Romeo Weds Heer, which is a romantic comedy. The title track, backed by a music video, is already out and the teasers show the two actors in a fun and filmy avatar.

Produced by Abdullah Kadwani and Asad Qureshi of 7th Sky Entertainment, the drama is written by Muhammad Younis Butt and directed by Anjum Shahzad, who also helmed the blockbuster drama Khaani that dealt with serious social issues.

This play will be Sana Javed and Feroze Khan’s third project together after Khaani and Mehreen Jabbar’s Eid telefilm Dino Ki Dulhaniya.

Romeo Weds Heer is scheduled to go on air on Geo next month.

Aangan

The much-awaited play that features a star-studded cast and is in its last spell of shooting, Aangan is a period drama that is based on the pre-partition era. It follows the story of multiple characters that are interconnected to each other in some way or the other. Directed by Mohammad Ehteshamuddin (of Udaari fame), the serial is an adaptation of Khatija Mastoor’s award winning novel of the same name, which was honoured with the Adamjee Award for Literature and translated in 13 languages.

The upcoming play has an all-star cast that includes Ahsan Khan, Ahad Raza Mir, Sajal Aly, Mawra Hocane, Sonya Hussyn, Uzma Hassan, Abid Ali and Hira Mani. We will also see model turned actor Rabia Butt in a special appearance and Shahroz Sabzwari, who is essaying the character of a doctor called Ehsaan in the play. Aangan is scheduled to go on air later this year.

Deedan

Featuring Sanam Saeed and Mohib Mirza in lead roles, Deedan’s teasers are already out and it looks like an intense love story which will also reflect the Pashtun culture. Shot in the beautiful Attabad Valley of Hunza, Deedan follows the story of Resham (essayed by Sanam Saeed) and Zardaab (Mohib Mirza) who are in love with each other and things take a turn for the two when Resham is sentenced to be stoned to death by the tribal jirga. The upcoming play has been written by Attiya Dawood and directed by Amin Iqbal. Deedan will also star Ajab Gul, Rasheed Naz and Huma Nawab besides Sanam Saeed and Mohib Mirza, who last starred together in the film, Bachaana and TV serial Firaaq.

Haiwaan

Based on a social taboo, drama serial Haiwaan features actor and host Faysal Qureshi and Savera Nadeem in pivotal roles. The play revolves around two families and their efforts to overcome complicated situations. The drama aims to raise awareness about domestic issues and the consequences that are often ignored.

In an earlier interview with Instep, actor Faysal Qureshi said, “Haiwaan follows a brutal story. It’s about a character which is commonly found in our society. In order to cover a mistake that he has committed at some point, he commits more of them. And then there comes a point when the truth is unveiled. It is a very intense story, with a lot of drama.”

Directed by Mazhar Moin, the play will also feature Iffat Omar, Wahaj Ali and Sanam Chaudhry in supporting roles. Haiwaan is scheduled to go on air later this year.
