After Chalay Thay Saath that was recently screened in Hong Kong and is aiming for a release in China soon, another Pakistani film is gearing up for an international release. One of the latest films, Maan Jao Naa, which came out in Pakistan on February 2, is all set to release in Qatar on March 29, writer of the film Asma Nabeel confirmed to Instep.

“The film will release in Qatar on March 29, followed by a release in the UK on April 13,” she informed. “It was a very easy way for us to make it possible because the feedback matters a lot. People in Qatar were very welcoming while the Punjabi angle in the film paved the way for its release in the UK. A lot of Punjabis reside in the UK so the distributers said that it will help pull audiences in cinemas.”

She also shared that starting with Qatar and United Kingdom, they plan to release the film in other countries as well including Australia, Canada and the US, depending on the feedback they get on the film.

Speaking of the response the film received in Pakistan, Asma Nabeel said that though numbers on the box office aren’t very high, the feedback from masses has been very good and this is what encourages them to bring out more films. “We have started working on our next project and the script is underway,” she added, while she also revealed that she is soon to make a short film that is being written and directed by her and will be screened at festivals.

Coming back to Maan Jao Naa, the film has been produced by Mohammad Khalid Ali and directed by Aabis Raza. It features Adeel Chaudhry and Iranian actor-model Naaz Nourozi, who made her debut in Pakistan with the film, while it also stars Ghana Ali, Asif Raza Mir, Ayaz Samoo and Hajra Yamin in important roles.
