Just a few days after bagging some Golden Globe nods, Tom Hanks and Meryl Streep drama, The Post, directed by Steven Spielberg was completely shut out at the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards.

The Post noticeably earned zero nominations when the contenders for the SAG Awards were announced. The movie has gotten six nominations at the Golden Globes - including Best Actor/Actress nods for Hanks/Streep - leaving it tied for top nods alongside Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.

The thriller about the first female publisher of a major American newspaper was not the only big production that was snubbed. According to The Hollywood Reporter, “Movies that failed to receive any SAG Award nominations include late December releases The Post and Phantom Thread, which each earned multiple Globe nominations and have been recognized by numerous other groups. Fellow multiple Globe nominees shut out by SAG include The Greatest Showman, Molly’s Game, Dunkirk (save for a stunt nomination) and All the Money in the World, which was not screened for the SAG Awards nominating committee, likely due to last-minute reshoots”.

Actress Kristen Bell is all set to host the 2018 SAG Awards, which will air on TNT and TBS on January 21, 2018.
