After several delays Mohsin Ali’s directorial debut, Chupan Chupan finally has a release date: December 29. The film’s trailer, launched this week at an event attended by the lead pair Ahsan Khan and Neelam Muneer, is colourful and intriguing albeit not too original.
Going by the trailer, Chupan Chupai follows the story of five individuals including four boys: Feddy, Teeli, Koki and Babu plus a girl named Pari, essayed by Muneer. With no source of income, they come together to earn money through illegal means. They kidnap the son of a politician and expect to get a huge ransom in return but their efforts go in vain when they learn that the boy’s father is not willing to give them any money. He instead asks a senior police officer to look into the case. The film revolves around the troupe’s buffoonery. It also has a love sequence between Ahsan Khan and Neelam Muneer who share good onscreen chemistry.
Aside from the two, Chupan Chupai stars veteran actors like Jawed Sheikh, Talat Hussain, Arshad Mehmud and Sakina Samo while it also features some young, fresh faces including Faizan Khuwaja.
