Speaking to Instep on the sidelines of the trailer launch of the film last week, Haroon shared, “The song is doing really well. It is ranked on number one on Patari if we talk about just one platform. The major highlight was the song more than the video and I think we have achieved the purpose.”
Reflecting on the idea of singers transitioning to acting, Haroon observed that it is not a new trend. “It’s been over 10 years now ever since Fawad Khan made his acting debut. For me, it was a huge challenge more than an opportunity. Time will tell once we see the performance that whether the audience appreciates it or not,” he maintained.
Verna follows the story of a rape survivor, Sara, essayed by Khan while Rashid plays the role of her husband. Written, directed and produced by Shoaib Mansoor, the film also stars Zarrar Khan (antagonist), Rasheed Naz and new entrant Naimal Khawar. The film is expected to release on November 17, 2017.
