Yasir Hussain, known for his role in films like Karachi Se Lahore and Lahore Se Aagey, plays many roles within entertainment industry circles. He started off as a theatre artist, and followed it up by scriptwriting and acting for TV and films. He has also co-hosted a couple of award ceremonies. Presently one of the projects he is working on is a web series. Titled Kala Bichoo, it stars model turned actor Amna Ilyas in a pivotal role and has been co-produced by Wajahat Rauf.
To learn more, Instep got in touch with Yasir Hussain, who explained just how the project came together. “A friend of mine Bilal Abbasi, who is the writer/ director and co-producer of Kala Bichoo, came up with the idea of making a web series,” Hussain told Instep. “And since everything is digitalized now I thought it is a great thought so I joined him on the project. We finalized the script together and started shooting for it.”
Hussain will also be acting in the web series that will be launched very soon and will comprise a few episodes. The subject matter of the project, as the title suggests, revolves around the idea of ‘kala bichoo’ that has a literal as well as symbolic meaning to it.
“The term is symbolic and refers to the evils that exist in all of us,” Hussain shared. “If we talk about a broader perspective, the web series will shed light on issues faced by our youth who think money is the solution to every problem in their lives – be it their personal or familial issues. And to achieve the purpose, they forget the difference between legal and illegal and choose a path that helps them earn as much money as they can.”
Aside from Kala Bichoo, Hussain is currently working on a number of film scripts. Coming to his small screen projects, you can catch the actor in on-going drama serial Shadi Mubarak alongside Kubra Khan. He also soon have a guest appearance (as an interviewer) in the much talked about Qandeel Baloch TV biopic, Baaghi that will begin from tonight.capt
