Heartthrob Bilal Abbas Khan, who made his acting debut with last year’s hit TV serial Dumpukht, finally found fame with the film Thora Jee Le that was released earlier this year. Though the film was a box office failure and earned significant wrath from critics, Khan’s work was appreciated. Having picked up positive reviews for his role in the recently concluded TV play Rasm e Duniya opposite Armeena Khan, the actor is gearing up for his next project, O Rangreza alongside star of the moment Sajal Aly.

Speaking to Instep on the sideline of Mom’s premiere in Karachi, Khan described his upcoming serial as a love story. “I’m playing the role of a guy who is more like an idiot. It’s a beautiful love story.”

Reflecting on Rafay Rashdi’s Thora Jee Le that marked Khan’s big screen debut, the actor stated, “The film didn’t perform well on the box office as well as according to reviews but the overall experience was good.”

Khan has not appeared in any film post Thora Jee Le and has no plans of doing a film in the near future. At a time when many of his contemporaries are trying their luck with films, the actor is certainly the anomaly. But when asked to state his reason behind this decision, he told Instep: “We have very limited experience in films and our film market is not stable. It’s an establishing market and we need around 4-5 years to make a great amount of films. I would love to do films then; after all, who doesn’t want to work in films?”
