We’re half way through the year and it looks like everybody has a video coming out. Jimmy Khan is changing gears with his upcoming music video, ‘Madam’ that throws a much-needed light on the lives of transgenders, the oppression they face particularly in this part of the world. Prior to making the video, Jimmy educated himself by researching transgenders and their history in South Asia. While the full-length music is slated to make an appearance any day now, you can catch a glimpse of what went into this effort (and the courageous individuals who make up this community) in a short but provoking BTS video that can be found on Patari. The single ‘Madam’ is produced by Zain Ahsan, another superhero from the indie music scene, and the music treatment given to this song will be different from Jimmy’s recent hits.

Another major artist from the music scene, Farhad Humayun, whose studio in Lahore, Riot Studios, hosted several edition of Levis Live gigs with some of music’s biggest names either in attendance or performing, has a new song coming out. Known as the leader of music group Overload, Humayun is releasing his first solo track, which is called ‘Mur Ke Dekho’. The singer-songwriter has shared some BTS images on Instagram but a confirmed date for the release has not been announced.

While we’re on the subject of Humayun, as you wait on his upcoming solo music video, check out his Facebook page to find his tribute to the recently deceased (and forever cherished musician of our times), Chris Cornell.
