Gone are the days when Johnny Depp made headlines for the right reasons. Apart from starring in the underwhelming Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, Depp is in the news right now for “disappearing millions”.

Gone are the days when Johnny Depp made headlines for the right reasons. Apart from starring in the underwhelming Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, Depp is in the news right now for “disappearing millions”.

Depp has sued his business management company, The Management Group (TMG) for mismanaging his money, accusing them of fraud and negligence. TMG however counter sued, calling Depp a “habitual liar”. Basically, things got pretty ugly between the two.

Now Depp is scaring people with a very troubling joke about the President of the United States of America, Donald Trump. The actor was at the Glastonbury Festival in England and had taken the stage to introduce his 2004 film The Libertine when somebody asked him to make a comment on Trump.

“Can we bring Trump here?” he asked the crowd. “I think he needs help,” he said of the president.

However, what he said right after really shocked people: “When was the last time an actor assassinated a president?” According to the Hollywood Reporter, the question drew loud cheers and boos from the crowd. “I want to clarify, I’m not an actor. I lie for a living,” he continued. Depp’s comment seemed to be a reference to John Wilkes Booth, the man who was also an actor like Depp himself and who assassinated President Abraham Lincoln at Ford’s Theatre in Washington in 1865.
