Saket Chaudhary’s upcoming film Hindi Medium holds special significance for viewers in Pakistan as the film stars our very own Saba Qamar opposite the talented and versatile Irrfan Khan in lead role. The film talks about society’s obsession with English language and the way it perceives those who don’t speak the language.
In a recent interview with Firstpost, Khan shared what the film is about. “It’s the content that will carry the film,” he said. “The whole issue of bachcho ke school ka admission is dealt with in an entertaining way. I don’t think audiences want to watch social issues in films unless it’s done in an interesting way. At this juncture of my career I want to do films on themes that reach out to a large audience.”
Speaking about his experience of working with Qamar, Khan noted, “It was a beautiful experience. Saba comes from the province Punjab. She plays a Punjabi in the film and we found that flavour while working with her. The way she gets angry and the way she fights, all of that has a Punjabi flavour.”
The film is all set to come on May 12, this year and will have a box office clash with Amitabh Bachchan’s Sarkar 3 and Ayushman Khurana-Parineeti Chopra starrer Meri Pyaari Bindu.
