We revealed earlier that the legendary Urdu writer Anwar Maqsood, who has given us some super hit theatre productions in recent times (Pawney 14 August, Sawa 14 August, Siachen) is gearing up to write two films this year. In a recent conversation with Instep, he informed that one of the scripts he’s currently working on is for a film that will be made by well known businessman, Asim Jofa.
When Instep contacted Jofa to confirm the news and find out about the film, he responded in the affirmative.
“Yes, I’m making a film and Anwar sahab is writing it,” he told Instep.
However he refrained from revealing any details regarding the film and said that he wants to keep it under wraps at the moment, given the uncertainty of events in the country.
“I don’t want to disclose it right now as I’m not sure how things turn out to be,” Jofa shared. “I can just tell you that Anwar sahab is writing the first film of his life for me and you’ll love it. It’s going to be a masterpiece.”
Whether Jofa is directing or producing the film, or doing both, time will tell. For now we’re excited that Anwar Maqsood is working on a film script. Given his wit and flair for language, we’re waiting to see what he comes up with.
