Currently back in the spotlight with Vishal Bhardwaj’s new film, Rangoon, it seems Ranaut has managed to charm critics and in a surprising twist of fate, Bollywood counterparts who are enamoured by her terrific performance in the film that also stars Shahid Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan.
“Many from industry have complimented and messaged me which is a very sweet gesture. More than I expected,” Ranaut told Times of India.
Though a lot of people have appreciated Ranaut’s performance in Rangoon, the same cannot be said about the film based on the early reviews it has picked up. The actress also noted that despite the removal of scenes that featured her, she is happy with the response her performance has received.
“Some of my favourite scenes, which were important for the graph of my work were edited,” she said. “Those scenes were my top-notch performances and I was shattered when I came to know about the edit. I thought without those scenes my performance would be regarded as satisfactory and it won’t be appreciated that much. Despite that, people loved it. I am very happy.”
