While Fawad Khan’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Mahira Khan’s Raees have landed in hot water given the ongoing tension between Pakistan and India, Saba Qamar’s Bollywood debut Hindi Medium, starring Irrfan Khan, remains unaffected. While Fawad Khan’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Mahira Khan’s Raees have landed in hot water given the ongoing tension between Pakistan and India, Saba Qamar’s Bollywood debut Hindi Medium, starring Irrfan Khan, remains unaffected. The film is said to be releasing as per its original schedule, despite rumours suggesting that it has been postponed.

An official statement released on Khan’s behalf, in response to rumours hinting that the shooting of the film has been postponed, states that the project has been completed and the film will release as per the schedule. “The question of any of his [Irrfan Khan] films being stalled is not true,” says the statement. “He has wrapped up shooting for all his films with no pending schedules left for any. “Irrfan is currently putting all his efforts and focus on his next [films] with Tanuja Chandra and Homi Adajania.”

Dubbed as a light-hearted rom-com, Hindi Medium stars Khan and Qamar in lead roles and revolves around the story of a couple from Chandni Chowk and is directed by Saket Chaudhary. If reports are to be believed, the film will see the light of the day and is expected to come out in 2017.

Earlier, it was reported that Qamar, who is also playing the lead in Wajahat Rauf’s Lahore Se Aagey alongside Yasir Hussain, was in India when MNS placed a ban on Pakistani artists working there. She recently returned to Pakistan after completing the shooting for the film.
