The sequel to Rock On is here and we are glad to see that the cast and production team have grown up a little (we say that because thankfully, this time round, the production has gotten rid of the extra exclamation marks from its title.) But obviously, the gang is looking visibly grown up as well, since the first part came out nearly eight years ago.

Farhan Akhtar, Arjun Rampal and Purab Kohli are back in the reboot while Shraddha Kapoor is the new entrant to the franchise. According to reports, Kapoor has been taking singing lessons and will sing in the sequel alongside Farhan Akhtar. Also returning to the sequel is actress Prachi Desai, who played Farhan’s wife in the first film.
However, we are most excited to see Arjun Rampal, who is appearing on the big screen after a rather long break. His film career has largely slowed down, with his last film being Roy, a venture which received negative reviews and released nearly a year ago. Why don’t we see more of this man - it’s a pity that he doesn’t choose the best roles for himself. Nevertheless, Rock on did well and fetched Rampal a National Award. Hopefully, the reboot will be welcomed well by audiences too and will rescue some of its stars from obscurity and/or flops.
