Eid is just around the corner and even though Eid-ul-Azha isn’t as hyped as its predecessor, it’s still a valid excuse to shop. And to entice you further, some of our favourite bespoke and high street brands are releasing exclusive, limited edition Eid collections that range from formal to casual with versatile pieces that can be styled in multiple manners. Here are our picks for the top collections that we’re excited to see up close and better still, wear this Eid.

Elan

There is probably no other brand with greater aspirational value than Elan by Khadija Shah. Whether you’re getting married, shopping lawn for the summer or planning an outfit for a special event, give a girl Elan and you certainly won’t hear her complain. The design house introduces a new range this year with the unstitched silk collection. Shot in Udaipur, India, the collection is available for purchase and even though it isn’t being targeted towards Eid, we can imagine it working exceptionally well as festive wear. Stitch it as you please and you can wear the outfit later to a fancy lunch or semi-formal dinner.

Sania Maskatiya

Another go-to brand, Maskatiya can always be counted upon to produce a clean, chic collection that can be styled in a versatile manner by breaking up the pieces. The covetable brand introduces Shades of Autumn, a collection celebrating and exploring the simplistic elements of nature. True to Maskatiya’s aesthetic, the collection features 25 original semi-formal/luxury-pret designs, combining elegance with signature geometrics and florals in sleek Eastern and Western silhouettes. Shades of Autumn includes handworked embroideries across the label’s distinctive cuts, within a varying colour palette, and is now available in stores.

Farah Talib Aziz

This Karachi-based brand has acquired a reputation for being flirty, feminine and unapologetically glamorous. FTA manages to combine trends with a quintessentially romantic aesthetic which is too pretty and commercially viable to be critiqued. Although their Eid collection isn’t out yet, teasers of it available on the brand’s Instagram page have us intrigued and we’re pegging it to be a success. The collection itself, from what we can gauge, features FTA’s signature pastel shades, floral prints and delicate embellishment paired with
contemporary cuts like cold-shoulders and pleated bell sleeves. If you’re looking for an outfit that is unequivocally charming, FTA would be our bet.

Crimson X Saira Shakira

It’s often disheartening when a brand produces a good collection but ends up embroiled in controversy for reasons other than their clothes. Enduring a similar fate, the Saira Shakira x Crimson collection came under fire even before it had hit the racks for two images in its shoot. While much has been said about the shoot itself, the clothes that it’s trying to sell have been side-tracked by the hype. Looking at the actual apparel one realizes that Saira Shakira managed to conceptualize and design a festive-appropriate collection that can be worn beyond Eid as well. We love the silhouettes that the brand has promoted in its shoot even though the collection itself is unstitched. It’s easy to be inspired by their designs and repurpose them for personal use.
