Ask any fashionista and she’ll tell you accessories maketh an outfit. You can be dressed in the most basic clothing but still look like you belong on the runway if you’ve accessorized your outfit well. While shoes and bags matter, it’s the smaller details like your jewellery that can really establish your signature style.

Jewellery brands on our radar.

Are you someone who regularly eschews earrings in favour of a necklace or do you only reserve neckwear for formal occasions? Whatever your fix might be, here’s our round-up of three local brands that hit the nail on the head with their aesthetics, providing us all some very choice baubles to help style our outfits with.

Esfir

This Karachi based brand caught our eye with its bird cage earrings. Delicate yet statement, the earrings can be worn with Eastern or Western wear, for a formal look or even as your stand-out accessory for a casual lunch. Apart from the earrings that we’re clearly drooling over, Esfir has a contemporary aesthetic that is decidedly feminine but also impactful. It has some rather large pieces of jewellery but what redeems their pieces are the intricate details that set each one apart.

Project Rich

Based out of Lahore and run by Madiha Saail Khan, Project Rich is one of our go-to brands for the variety of designs it offers. While most jewellery brands that have emerged locally have chosen to establish their ethos in modern designs, Khan retains true to our culture and produces ethnic pieces but with a chic update. Whether you’re looking for a custom job (these can range from brooches, rings, to even belts) or costume jewellery for a wedding, Project Rich has a plethora of pretty trinkets that you can choose from. Our favourite from their recent Independence Day collection is the Naqshe Jiggar pendant.

Saphigo

Another Lahore based brand that caught our eye, Saphigo also falls under the contemporary jewellery category but their pieces take on a very different aesthetic from Esfir. Inspired more by natural textures and flora fauna, Saphigo’s limited range has some unique pieces like their leaf rings that come plain or with a tiny rhinestone attached.

A statement making ring, it’s meant to cover at least two fingers, ensuring that there isn’t much else you require by way of accessories for your hand/arm. Another favourite includes the owl hand harness that goes over your thumb and index finger for a manus x machina vibe.
