If you ask any reputed stylist in Pakistan they’ll tell you that the two words women in the sub-continent dread most when it comes to hair is “cut short.” There is something about our local standard of beauty that considers long hair a staple, an unerring sign of femininity. Which is why, even in the peak heat of summer with temperatures often soaring above 40 degrees, Pakistani women choose to leave their tresses long and flowing.

Internationally though, the beauty ethos shifts to shorter hair globally and the latest to join the bob squad is none other than the uber stylish Victoria Beckham. Beckham is known for her modern yet decidedly feminine taste but has recently been making a shift away from fashion ideals she has long espoused.  The pop star-turned-designer was famous for never being spotted without heels but made headlines when she stated that she was over the height facilitating footwear in favour of more comfortable options.

Her latest digression from norm pushes forward the short hair agenda, one which we at Instep throw our weight behind whole heartedly.  Don’t trash the lob until you’ve felt the wind on the nape of your neck! And who better to convince you than Scarlett Johannson, who has lately been flaunting a cut even shorter!
