CINE WATCH

One of the most anticipated films of the year Ribhu Dasgupta’s suspense thriller Te3n is all set to hit theatres this weekend. Starring Amitabh Bachchan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Vidya Balan, the film revolves around the investigation of an eight-year-old unsolved kidnapping case. It is said to be an official remake of South Korean film Montage. According to reviews, Te3n fails to live up to the hype since it gives away the suspense quite early on. However, the trio shines in the film with their spectacular performances. Even though the reviews are average and it is said that the story moves at a snail’s pace, fans can catch the evening shows in cinemas near them.

Stocking up for Eid, Vol 1

Ramazan is just as much about prepping for your Eid wardrobe as it is about gorging on pakoras and of course, connecting with your spiritual self, and this weekend, we have a handful of more options for you to sort out your fashion needs for the three-day long festivities. Sania Maskatiya’s Eid collection, The Summer Bloom – Edit 1, is up for grabs both in stores and online. If you are done with stocking up on hoards of designer lawn for daywear and are now looking for fancier options for those grand, dinner affairs then this is definitely a collection you don’t want to miss out on. Intricately embroidered pieces in Maskatiya’s signature, nature-inspired as well as geometric patterns, the collection offers a diverse range of statement-making silhouettes – from short peplum jackets paired with dhaka pajamas to a sleek combo of structured tunics and pants – depending on what your preferred palate for Eid fashion is, traditional or contemporary.

In the exhibition hit list is Shehrnaz, who will be exhibiting her Eid collection at Ensemble this Saturday. Lace jackets, fully embroidered tunics as well as heavily embellished formal outfits with kamdaani work and machine embroidery, the exhibition will have enough on offer to take you from day through night looking your fashionable best. Of course, early birds will get the best out of it so better to hit the store as soon as it kicks off at 12pm.

Peeps in Rahim Yar Khan can look forward to Lala’s store launch today. The outlet, located in Shahi Bazaar, is all set to open its doors, offering a range of outfit options including their signature unstitched lawn as well as pret wear. What’s more exciting is that opening day visitors can avail a 50% discount. That’s quite a bargain. One of the oldest textile brands of the country, Lala has now joined the fast fashion bandwagon and is working towards moving with the times. We recommend a visit for those everyday kurtas that come in handy for a random iftar get together.
