ISLAMABAD: Pakistan President Dr Arif Alvi thanked New Zealand Prime Minister for showing strong compassion in the face of terrorist killing of 50 Muslims in the Christchurch mosques last Friday.
The New Zealand PM has been praised widely over his leadership skills and crisis management after Friday massacre of worshipers in the mosques.
The president also acknowledged the response of New Zealanders towards the tragedy who have gathered in large numbers to console the Muslim community.
“NZ citizens also deserve praise for unanimous outpouring of love towards Muslim community, rejecting hate & Islamophobia,” he added.
Over 50 people were martyred when a white supremacist opened firing on people readiying for Friday prayers. Brenton Tarrant, 28, was later charged with murder in a district court Saturday.
Prior to the attacks Tarrant issued a 74-page manifesto. It detailed an anti-immigration, neo-fascist ideology lamenting the supposed decline of European civilization.
