Two dead, 43 injured in US school bus crash

An American school bus carrying fifth graders collided with a dump truck on a New Jersey interstate Thursday, killing a student and a teacher, and injuring more than 40 others, officials said.

NEW YORK: An American school bus on Thursday collided with a dump truck on a New Jersey interstate, killing a student and a teacher, wounding  42 others.

According to details, the sad accident occurred  in the broad daylight at Mount Olive, about 80 kilometers west of New York,  when a bus was taking the school children to Waterloo village on a class outdoor education trip.

At least  45 people were on board, including 38 students. Two were killed and the other 43 were rushed to medical facility, some of them critically injured and undergoing surgery, media reported.

The exact cause of the accident was not immediately clear, while the driver of the dump truck, with which the school bus collided, was also  among the injured.
