Afridi offers to pay for treatment of Mansoor Ahmed
“Shahid Afridi Foundation will bear all expenses of Mansoor’s treatment and won’t let him down,” Afridi said.
KARACHI: Cricket allrounder Shahid Khan Afridi has offered to pay for the medical treatment of former hockey goalkeeper Mansoor Ahmed, who is suffering from heart ailment.
Announcing his offer on Monday, the former Pakistan cricket captain said that his NGO, Shahid Afridi Foundation, would bear all expenses of the hockey great’s medical treatment.
“Shahid Afridi Foundation will bear all expenses of Mansoor’s treatment and won’t let him down,” Afridi said.
Mansoor, suffering from heart ailment for the last one month, has been advised by doctors to travel abroad for treatment, Geo News reports.
The goalkeeper’s heart is functioning at 20 percent and other organs have also started failing.
Mansoor was admitted in the ICU of a local hospital 18 days ago and his medical bill was paid by Pakistan Customs and the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF). The Customs paid Rs 0.5 million while the remaining amount of Rs 1 million was paid by PHF.
Mansoor had appealed to the prime minister to pay for his treatment.
