DUBAI: Quetta Gladiators returned to their best form to achieve a record win as they defeated Karachi Kings by 67 runs in the 19th match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) at Dubai International Cricket Stadium here Thursday.
Having been sent into bat, Quetta set 181 runs massive target for Karachi Kings as Watson’s 90 off 58 balls powered the Gladiators to set a good total, while chasing the huge target Kings could hardly reach to 113 for 8 in 20 overs.
Watson significantly smashed 90 runs off 58 balls with 7 sixes and 5 boundaries. KP Pietersen was another batsman who added 50 for Gladiators.
Idea to send Shahid Afrid to make a blasting start during Powerplay failed to work as he lost his wicket in early over without contributing the needed share and got out scoring 1.
Karachi Kings had won the toss and decided to bowl first against Quetta Gladiators. Shahid Afridi and D Wiese were included for Karachi Kings to replace Khurram Manzoor and Tymal Mills, while Quetta Gladiators went in the match with the same team that defeated Sultans in the last thrilling encounter at the same venue.
Earlier, United defeated Qalandars by 6 wickets in the 18th match of PSl 2018.
