Students use Google Docs to create food bank for feeding hungry students
The distinct service has helped students focus on academics only without worrying about feeding themselves.
In order to help fellow students out of growing hunger crisis, a group of students at Western University, uses Google Docs to provide food to the ones who need it, with their personal information remaining in complete secrecy.
The students are first required to fill a form on Google Docs that mentions their name, email address and a list of things they need.
An algorithm then removes the students’ names from the filled forms as they might not want their friends to know that they are in need of help.
The required food is subsequently delivered by a volunteer and kept in a secret locker from where students can pick it up.
The distinct service has helped students focus on academics only without worrying about feeding themselves.
A genius idea furthered by young leaders, the service gives a glimpse into the future of food storage and delivery system as well as provides solution to the increasing food insecurity.
