Russia's FIFA stadium to seat spectators outside stadium

Ekaterinburg: Russia will be issuing 2.6 million tickets to football fans who will be attending the World Cup, according to the Russian World Cup organisers.

The interesting part is that some spectators in Ekaterinburg, one of the host cities in the Ural Mountains would be making its spectators sit in a makeshift alternate sitting arrangement to view the match.

The sitting arrangement is installed outside of the stadium and does not offers a promising view.

According to FIFA standards, a stadium needs to be able to hold 35,000 spectators.

The Ekaterinburg Arena was short of the capacity so came up with a re-construction plan at the 60-year-old Arena which was approved by FIFA authorities.

"The seats fully comply with safety and security requirements." FIFA spokesperson told the media.

Ekaterina Arena will hold four matches in the World Cup. The tournament that will kick off in June 2018 will take place in 12 stadiums in 10 Russian cities.
