Victor Wembanyama delivered a strong performance to help the San Antonio Spurs secure a 135 to 123 win over the Dallas Mavericks on Thursday night.
Wembanyana finished with 29 points and 11 rebounds, leading a balanced Spurs attack that featured seven players scoring in double figures.
Harrison Barnes added 19 points, while De’Aaron Fox chipped in 17. Despite the loss, rookie Cooper Flagg continued his historic scoring run.
Flagg scored 32 points, extending his NBA record for consecutive 30 point games by a teenager to four straight contests.
The 19-year-old joined Michael Jordan, Bernard King, Allen Iverson and Jalen Green as the only rookies to score at least 30 points in four consecutive games since the NBA ABA merger.
Naji Marshall also had 32 points for Dallas, while Daniel Gafford recorded 16 points and 10 rebounds.
The Mavericks have now lost six straight games and were playing their first matchup since trading 10 time All Star Anthony Davis.
