NEW DELHI: An image in class VI textbook being taught at Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) schools in India has depicted the Muslim worship place “Mosque” as a source of noise pollution.
Published by Selina Publishers India, the sixth grade science textbook has a chapter on the causes of noise pollution.
The image has sparked outrage on social media, prompting an apology from publisher.

The Selina Publisher has apologized and promised to change the picture in the upcoming editions of the book.
The writer should be true to himself. If mosque's are a source of noise pollution, so are temples and gurudwaras!

“This is to inform all concerned that Selina Publishers will be changing the picture in subsequent editions of the book,” said the publisher and added that “We do apologise if it has hurt the sentiments of anyone.”
