DUBAI: Peshawar Zalmi defeated Lahore Qalandars by 17 runs in the 16th Twenty20 match of the Pakistan Super League 2017 here at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Friday.
Chasing a modest total of 167 runs, Lahore Qalandars could make 149 for the loss of nine wickets in the 20 overs.
Their main scorers were Sohail Tanvir (36 not out), Cameron Delport, Aamer Yamin (25), Yasir Shah (22) and Sunil Narine (21) while none of the other players could get into the double figures.
For Peshawar Zalmi, all-rounders Shakib Al Hasan and Mohammad Hafeez claimed two wickets each.
After winning this match, Peshawar Zalmi went up to second position at points table, gaining seven points from as many matches while Lahore Qalandars remained at six after playing seven matches.
This was second match between the two teams in this tournament and Peshawar Zalmi won both matches. They had defeated Lahore Qalandars by three wickets in a low-scoring match, played at Dubai on February 12.
The next match is being played between Islamabad United and Quetta Gladiators.
