Are we alone in the universe? NASA to make important announcement on exoplanets
WASHINGTON: National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) will hold an important press conference on Wednesday regarding exoplanets, rocky Earth-like planets that do exist in our solar system.
NASA researchers will hold a press conference on Wednesday to talk about exoplanets, which are similar to the Earth and orbit a star other than our sun. These exoplanets exist outside our solar system and orbit a star of their own. One can tune in at 1pm E.T. to listen to the press conference and then participate in a Reddit Question and Answer session with the researchers.
Exoplanets have always been under discussion but the first ones discovered were Jupiter-like gas giants orbiting stars. People became excited about the prospect of more rocky, Earth-like planets in our galaxy which were similar to our planet in terms of mass and temperature.
Exoplanets are "the major hope for life elsewhere in the universe, since many have been found that resemble our own Earth and could have the building blocks of life," Britain's The Independent stated.
Mostly, NASA has taken strides in studying exoplanets and whether or not human beings are alone in the universe. Wednesday's press conference will be an important one.
