After Kejriwal, Chidambaram asks Modi to prove claims of 'surgical strike'

NEW DELHI: A day after Arvind Kejriwal, Indian Congress leader and former home minister P Chidambaram demanded Narendra Modi government to give adequate proof of its much-hyped surgical strike in Pakistan.

In an interview with Indian TV, Chidambaram said, “India is over publicizing the ‘surgical strike’ on Pakistan.”

Chief Minister Delhi and Aam Admi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal on Monday urged Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to prove that surgical strikes took place across the Line of Control, the Indian media had reported.

To a query over deadlock between Pakistan and India, Chidambaram said, ''How long can we stay away from dialogue and non-political ties.”

He urged that talks with Pakistan should continue.

Commenting over threats to Pakistani artists by Indian extremists, the former home minister said, ''No cricket, no films is not a strategy to adopt.''

Chidambaram said that Pakistan is India’s neighbour and one cannot live in peace without brotherly relations with its neighbours.
