The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester celebrated the UK-Botswana partnership.
On Saturday, October 10, the Duke, Prince Richard and his wife, Duchess Birgitte made a visit to Botswana where they celebrated the 60th anniversary of the country's independence, the visit also included several engagements, as per the details shared by the Royal Family’s official Instagram handle.
The caption noted, “The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester have been in Botswana!”
It continued, “Marking the 60 years of the nation’s independence, the official visit celebrated the modern partnership between the UK and Botswana.”
“Their Royal Highnesses programme included…, a meeting with President Advocate Duma Bomo; hearing about Botswana’s pioneering conservation, work at the Mokolodi Nature Reserve; Joining pupils at Philip Moshotle Primary School to see how Botswana-founded education programme, ‘Youth Impact’, is helping to improve learning outcomes for children and young people.”
The programme also featured “a moment of commemoration at the Gaborone War Memorial.”
