News of the Netflix documentary that Prince Harry is planning for Diana has been taking a large chunk of the media cycle however, it seems Prince William isn’t going to be as silent as some suspect.

The reason for this, in the eyes of Editor-at-Large Tom Sykes, or The Royalist podcast, is because he too may end up ‘fighting back’.

The entire thing revolves around his rumoured meeting with the Director-General of British broadcaster the BBC, where a 30th anniversary documentary for Diana was pitched. But while insiders were quick to shut down something like this, since the idea is similar to what Prince Harry is planning, there are other ways the heir might allegedly ‘fight back’.

While penning a piece for his Substack he referenced some prospects.

According to the editor, “what can William do in response if he doesn’t want to make his own film, which I think we probably all agree is the correct course of action? Well, can he give his tacit endorsement to a responsible film made by ITV? Could, for example, photographs or access to the family archive or access to the royal archives, be provided?

In Mr Sykes’ view, “that is something that can be done, and that I suspect is the nature of this meeting that was being held with Matt Brittin, the Director General of the BBC on Thursday.”

Before concluding he also said, “I suspect there is negotiations going on to see who is going to be allowed to make this film, what level of access they are going to be given to the Royal Archives, which friends of Diana’s are going to be given the nod to cooperate.”
