'Game of Thrones: Aegon's Conquest' release date revealed

Game of Thrones: Aegon's Conquest, the first movie in the A Song of Ice and Fire universe, is set for release in the summer of 2029.

It is scheduled for June 1, 2029. Owen Harris, previously involved in A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, is set to direct the film. Beau Willimon will write the screenplay.

Though details about the plot are kept under wraps, it will reportedly focus on Aegon I, the founder of the Targaryen dynasty, and his conquest of Westeros.

Previously, Aegon I was only mentioned in discussions; he never appeared on screen.

In his lineage, Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) was one of the key characters of Game of Thrones.

Later, Aegon's several heirs – several of them were also named after him – have been a mainstay of other hit spinoff series.

On the other hand, the casting for the movie, especially the titular character, is currently unclear.

Meanwhile, as the Aegon's Conquest update will excite the Game of Thrones fans, the other two spin-offs are also in the works.

For example, House of the Dragon season four is in production, while work has also begun on season two of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms.

George R.R. Martin's novel-based Game of Thrones ran for eight seasons and scooped up several awards during its run.
