Kaley Cuoco recently revealed how she felt when her 8 Simple Rules co-star John Ritter passed away.

For those unaware, Ritter, who played Paul Hennessy in the famous American television sitcom, passed away at the age of 54 on September 11, 2003. He died from an acute thoracic aortic dissection.

On Saturday, September 12, Cuoco attended the John Ritter Foundation for Aortic Health's annual Evening from the Heart Gala in Los Angeles, where she visibly looked emotional.

Addressing the audience at the event, the 40-year-old American actress openly showed her affection for Ritter.

Expressing her feelings, she told the audience, "I always cry when I talk about him...When he passed away, I don’t want to get dramatic, but I can truly say that was one of the worst days of my life.”

“I remember having to remind myself that I wasn’t his kid. I remember for weeks after, I was like: ‘Gosh, I feel like I lost my dad,’” The Big Bang Theory star admitted.

Cuoco also shared that she first met Ritter at a table read for 8 Simple Rules where he was behaving like a father figure.

The Flight Attendant actress recalled, “[I was playing the] hot girl before I was knocked up ... Young and cool and hot, so I wore like the hottest outfit I could ever find for this table read, like nothing. It had these little spaghetti straps, just ridiculous ...”

“He gives me a big hug, and he looks at me, and he takes off his jacket, and he puts it on me and says: 'Don’t ever wear that again'. It was the best,” Kaley Cuoco remembered.
