Coco Gauff gets surprise message from Michelle Obama after US Open exit

Coco Gauff’s journey in the US Open came to an end after losing to Elena Ryabakina in the semi-finals.

The soon-to-be number one defeated Gauff 6-3, 4-6, 4-6 on Arthur Ashe Stadium after beating Jessica Pegula.

With this victory, Ryabakina is set to face the top seed Aryna Sabalenka for a blockbuster title.

The triumph also ensures that Rybakina will overtake Sabalenka, ending her 99-week reign and claiming the world number one ranking when the official list updates on Monday.

With the exit from US Open Coco Gauff received a surprise yet emotional Michelle Obama, the former first lady of the US.

Taking to X, Michelle came in the support of Gauff and cheered her up.
