Dakota Johnson, Chris Martin are getting back together?

Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin’s love story is not over yet.

Following Dakota’s breakup with the rumored boyfriend, Role Model, now, it is said that the well-known actress and her former lover, Chris, might give another chance to their relationship.

It is worth noting here that Dakota and Coldplay’s frontman started dating in 2017 and later parted ways in 2025; however, their romance lasted almost eight years.

A source revealed to Closer Online that the feelings may still be present, stating, "She wanted to move forward with marriage and starting a family and Chris kept dragging his feet. She left the relationship pretty angry and on a mission to make him regret losing her. And it did seem to work because Chris has spent a lot of time missing her and saying that if he got another chance he wouldn't mess it up. Dakota made a big effort to move on, but she never fully put Chris in her rearview, there are absolutely still feelings there on her side, too so it's not hard to imagine them getting on the merry-go-round all over again."

They further revealed that one big question arises over the possible reunion, saying, "Dakota's family and friends all really like Chris, they know he's a good guy, the question is whether he's actually capable of giving her what she wants, which is marriage and a family."

"There's no doubt he genuinely loves her and misses her and he may really think that he can do this, but the worry is that once she lets him back in her life, he'll change his mind and find a way to stall again and end up stringing her along the way he always does. No one wants to see her end up back in the exact same place with him a year from now. At the same time, no one wants to cut this off at the knees when there is such a deep connection between them."

However, the insider claimed that Dakota’s parents supports her while her friends remained cautious, "Dakota's parents just want her to be happy, they're going to back her whatever choice she makes, that's just the way they are, they're supportive to a fault sometimes. Her friends are a little more tough love and a lot of them are pretty wary of Chris. They were on the rollercoaster with her through all the ups and downs so of course they are warning her not to make the same mistakes all over again, no matter how tempting it might be to reconnect with Chris."

Adding to the claims, the insider said, "One person who is all for this though is Gwyneth,” because she is “very close” to Dakota and she might “love to see her get back with Chris,” moreover, it’s possible that she may become a “matchmaker” for the split couple.
