Iran Army offers $30,000 reward for killing or capturing US soldiers: What to know
‘With the participation of the people, if any Iranian force manages to capture or kill an American aggressor force, said Amir Hatami’
Iranian Commander-in-chief Major General Amir Hatami reportedly announced a $30,000 award for capturing or killing US troops as tensions between Iran and the US continue to intensify.
The announcement came on Sunday when General Hatami stated that with public participation, any Iranian force that accurately portrays or kills invading US military personnel will receive a significant amount of prize funded on behalf of the Iranian people.
In a reciprocal move, the Islamic Republic of Iran has declared the US Army a terrorist organization. This comes in spite of the fact that the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps has played an unparalleled position in combating militant organizations.
According to Amir Hatami, the reward comes from the Iranian people and is targeting US forces in the region; the current announcement follows the US Rewards for Justice program offering up to $10 billion for crucial information regarding Iran’s Supreme Leader and senior IRGI officials.
Furthermore, this crucial step comes amid ongoing tensions with the US and its allies with Iranian state media reporting the statement.
