Lacey Chabert admits she finally 'gets it' after becoming mom
Lacey Chabert reflects on her parents' parenting in a recent interview
Lacey Chabert is a proud mother of a daughter. But with becoming a mum, she has a full-circle moment of realization.
Her parents, she revealed, were strict.
Given that Chabert made her debut at just seven – the same age her daughter Julia Mimi Bella Nehdar is – it led her to get clarity on her parents' protective behaviour.
“It is surreal as a parent to see my daughter the same age,” she said while appearing on Today.
“It’s made me appreciate more how protective my parents were. Now I understand why they were so strict, too. I get it now," the actress said while reflecting on her upbringing.
“She was the age I was when I was performing in Les Misérables on Broadway,” the star shared.
That is true, as Chabert's acting journey began at a young age. At seven, she portrayed Young Cosette at Broadway's Imperial Theatre.
Not to mention, she also was playing the understudy for Gavroche in the Broadway play.
But her fame to stardom came when she stepped into Claudia Salinger on the Fox series Party of Five.
Then, upping the ante, was Chabert's role in Mean Girls as Gretchen Wieners, which became a fan favourite.
Chabert and her husband, David Nehdar, welcomed Julia in 2016.
