In a post shared to both of their Instagram accounts on Monday, July 20, the Grammy-nominated singer, 38, announced her split from the retired basketball player, 42, after about five years together and opened up about how they’ll continue “raising and loving” their 3-year-old son Sky as co-parents.

“Chanan and I decided to end our romantic relationship some time ago,” the Grammy-nominated singer said.

Describing the break-up, Jessie said, “It has been a sad and difficult situation, but we have been focused on navigating the change privately and positively for a healthy and happy co parenting environment for our son, and ourselves.”

In the statement, the musician also explained she wanted to “let people know the truth, before rumours circulate or a false narrative is written.”

But what seemingly complicated Jessie and Colman's breakup was their 3-year-old son, Sky.

However, the singer explained she and her ex, a retired basketball star, will cordially co-parent their kid.

“We will always continue supporting each other with love, respect and care as friends and most importantly being Sky’s Mum and Dad, so if you see us out and about together as a family, or posting each other on socials every now and again. That’s exactly what we are doing."

Signing off on a good note, Jessie remarked, “Raising and loving Sky together, supported with a positive friendship.”

To take a brief look at the duo's relationship. It began in 2021, and two years later, the pair welcomed Sky.
