Drake loses World Cup bet as Spain beats Argentina

The famous "Drake curse" struck again after the rapper lost a $1.5 million bet when Spain defeated Argentina in the 2026 FIFA World Cup final.

Drake, 39, backed Argentina to win through the betting platform Stake. If Argentina had won, he would have collected more than $5.1 million.

Instead, Spain claimed a 1-0 win after extra time, leaving the Canadian rapper empty-handed.

Some fans even rushed to the comment section after the final to troll Drake. 

The latest loss adds to the long-running "Drake curse," a term fans use after several teams and athletes supported by the rapper have gone on to lose.

Just days earlier, Drake also lost a $1 million bet after Irish fighter Conor McGregor was beaten by Max Holloway in a UFC bout.

The trend has become so well known that a website called TheDrakeCurse.com tracks his sports betting history.
