Mariah Carey already has festive plans for her fans: ‘the wait is nearly over’

Mariah Carey is planning a festive tour of Europe this year.

The All I Want for Christmas hitmaker will be bringing her Christmas concerts across the Atlantic for the first time in eight years, and the run of shows is expected to include stops at The O2 in London and Manchester's Co-op Live.

A source told The Sun newspaper's Bizarre column, “It’s been a long time since UK fans got to see Mariah perform her festive classics, but the wait is nearly over.”

“After years of playing seasonal shows only in America, she’s about to announce a whole European Christmas tour,” they added.

Mariah last performed in the UK in summer 2025, when she headlined Brighton Pride and performed a concert at the Royal Sandringham Estate in Norfolk.

And fans may get to hear some new songs because in March, the 56-year-old superstar, who released her most recent album Here For It All last September, revealed she had been back in the studio.

She told Variety at that time, "I’m definitely recording new music and I’m very excited about it. And yeah, I’m kind of like always recording new music, but I hope it will do well and people will like it. But yeah, new music."

Asked if she is working on a new album, she laughed, "When I say that, people get upset with me"

Mariah is still planning to release her lost grunge album, Someone's Ugly Daughter, but she's not sure when, saying, "Well, I want to have this happen, but you know, I gotta wait."

Asked what is getting in the way, she insisted, "I don’t know. I just literally have to wait a minute and put it out. And I’m going to do it. I’m going to do it. It’s just, you know, a whole thing."

The We Belong Together hitmaker also revealed her plans for the 25th anniversary of her Glitter movie and soundtrack album.

The 2001 romantic musical drama initially flopped at the box office, but its soundtrack went on to earn such a devoted following that fans launched a Justice For Glitter campaign in 2018, ultimately pushing the album back onto charts around the world.

When she was asked how he plans on celebrating, Mariah answered, "Plans for a deluxe and a reissue, or maybe just one, I don’t know. We’re getting on top of it. I’m excited about it."

Because of its poor performance, Mariah didn't like Glitter, but she learned to love it.

"I used to hate it. I used to be so like, why did I do that? And then, you know, it became something that I really loved and it just sort of took on its own thing,” she shockingly revealed.

When asked the reason, Mariah Carey hilariously replied, "Because it was a disastrous flop."
