Prince William breaks silence over England’s dramatic 2026 FIFA World Cup win: 'Never in doubt'
England football team faced off against Norway in the World Cup quarter-finals on Saturday
Prince William has nothing but praise for the England team following their quarter-final victory over Norway.
The Prince of Wales took to his X account (formerly known as twitter) on Saturday night to gush over the dramatic win of his team and especially raved over England's player Thomas Tuchel after they bragged a place in the semifinals of the FIFA World Cup 2026.
William wrote, "Well done England! Top performance in a tough environment. This is a special team."
He continued, "Commiserations to a proud Norway team.
"Onto the semi final… Never in doubt!"
The match was intense as England defeated Norway 2-1 after extra time at the Miami Stadium.
The future king also reshared the England football team's recent post, celebrating the remarkable victory.
The post read, "Into the final four of the @FIFAWorldCup. GET IN THERE!"
It is pertinent to mention that Prince William, who serves as Patron of the Football Association, is a lifelong football fan.
Moreover, William attends all the major football matches of England and the FA Cup finals.
He is also a devoted fan of Aston Villa.
For those unversed, this is England's fourth time securing a place in the final four of the FIFA World Cup, after 1966, 1990, and 2018's appearances.
Former England footballer, Sir David Beckham, also gushed over the win, and took to his official Instagram account and wrote, “What a moment in miami , I'm so proud of the team tonight reaching the Semi final of the World Cup and to celebrate with my family was so special... Thank you @england for giving our country these moments.”
He also posted a picture with his wife Victoria Beckham, daughter Harper Beckham, as well as sons Romeo and Cruz, captured at the Miami stadium.
